Hello
I started training at 48 years of age and found a new passion. I co-founded Sandalwood Martial Arts, in late 2001, to help some children who had been abandoned by a rogue instructor. In that process I joined KATU and began training under Grand Master Hwang Kwang Sung ITF # K-9-1 whom I credit with giving me the wonderful gift of Taekwon-Do.

Now over twenty five years later, as a retiree, Taekwon-Do keeps me very busy and provides me with social connections throughout the world.

1998 – Began training under a Taekwon-Do independent
2000 – Was promoted to 1st Dan
2001 – Joined KATU & Grand Master Hwang, Kwang Sung
2001 – Co-founded Sandalwood Martial Arts
2002 – Recognized as 1st Dan at KATU Camp
2005 – Promoted to 2nd Dan by Grand Master Hwang
2009 – Promoted to 3rd Dan by Grand Master Hwang
2012 – Promoted to 4th Dan by Grand Master Hwang
2013 – Earned UITF Instructor Certificate, Class A
2013 – Earned UITF Referee Certificate, Class A
2015 – Promoted to 5th Dan by Grand Master Hwang
2017 – Attended UITF World Championship in Argentina
2018 – Awarded UITF Legacy Award by Grand Master Hwang
2020 – Appointed UITF Secretary General by Grand Master Hwang
2020 – Promoted to 6th Dan by UITF promotions committee
2024 – Attended UITF World Championship in Croatia
