This May, for the fourth year, Sheila Watson was invited to teach women’s self-defence at the Spectrum Community School. She taught groups of Grade 9 and 12 girls a variety of physical skills as well as conducted activities and discussions on assertiveness, boundary-setting, and abusive relationships.
Students comments included, “(this class) helped me feel more confident if one of these situations happened to me,” and “You made it really easy to visualize situations you would use these moves in.”
